Lena Fiagbe

Lena Fiagbe stormed into the nineties British soul / pop music scene with her amazing debut album 'VISIONS'.

Her achingly sweet sounding folky melodies and hippy dippy sentiments coupled with catchy, yet gritty, modern, funky rhythms caught the attention of some if not all of the most hardened critics in the music business at the time.

As originality goes it doesn't get better than this.

The song "Gotta Get It Right" with its up - tempo beat and humanitarian lyrics, was her first hit.

Lena has toured extensively and was chosen by Lenny Kravitz as his support act prior to the release of her first album. Her TV debut on the Jools Holland Later Show saw her perform a duet of the Marvin Gaye hit "What's going on" with Paul Weller.

Lena has collaborated with numerous artists, her songwriting credits include penning lyrics for the legendary Daryl Hall (Hall & Oates) on his solo album "Soul Alone", and she can also be heard performing her beautiful, critically acclaimed, version of the Barry Manilow hit "Cant smile without you" on the soundtrack album from the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, alongside such artists as Sting and Elton John.

The track was also featured on the Smirnoff Vodka advertising campaigns - in 2002 on tv and again in 2004 in cinemas internationally.

The song African Dream, which she wrote and recorded with Wasis Diop, was a hugely successful international radio hit and, in 2007, it was selected for the compilation album "One World Many Cultures" released by the Putumayo label which featured collaborations between other world renowned artists including, Alan Stivell with Youssou N'Dour, Toots and The Maytels with Willie Nelson and Cheb Mami with Ziggy Marley to name but a few.

New Visions

Time spent traveling both literally and spiritually brings NEW VISION.

2009 sees Lena ready to step into the frame with her very own unique blend of soulful, lyrically captivating blend of music.

As she points out in the first track of her new as yet untitled album, "it's time to let go of the past".

The track "Move On" says it all. From the moment you hear this track you know that something special is about to appear. This album is about "Hope and Belief". The message is strong but gentle.

The idea that you should never give up on yourself or your dreams is beautifully delivered with each song illustrating a different experience, showing a new emotion whilst maintaining a strong connection to the overall Theme.

Crafting songs is one thing. But when a musician is able to take the listener on a journey and add a sense that they have lived and grown with the music whilst conveying a message that you can relate to, you know you've found a true artist.

Judge for yourself.
